Reviving nyus
After nyus's misadventure with hibernation a few days ago, I decided it was time to start putting the machine back together. You might recall that after the damage had already been done, I made one of the only smart moves that I had all night -- I shut the machine down, and ordered three 1TB drives from Newegg. That was only the first step, though, in bringing the machine back to life. For those interested in this sort of thing, here's a running log of what we've done so far to bring the machine back to life.
I intended to only post this when I was done, and when the machine was back to life (or when I had admitted defeat); but this entry is getting seriously long already.
zetorux also wanted an update, so I'll post this now, and make another entry after more progress in a few days.
I've ljcutted this, because this is an inordinate amount of text.
