OK, so, I figure it's time to post some interesting content.

For one, I made something that people seem to like. I've been working with a few people on various tools to aid in rooting Android phones, and tonight we just released what we call "unrevoked 2"; it's an application that attempts to reflash the recovery partition on your phone as painlessly as possible. (This allows you to flash unsigned ROMs to your phone, among other things.)

This is exciting work for me, because it works to support one of the things that I believe in strongly -- namely, I think that everybody should have access to run code on devices that they own. (This is similar to RMS's famous Right to Read "position fiction".) If you're interested in this, and you have an EVO 4G, Incredible, or Desire, you can download our tool for this.

Anyway, it's also very exciting to me to get to see people enjoy this. Here's a traffic graph from the server we're hosting it on:

We gave an early beta test at 0100 Moroso time last night, and and at 1700 Moroso time, we shipped the final version. (That's when the traffic spiked to 20Mbit/sec.) Watching the traffic go up is fun; I'm really proud of this, because we put a lot of effort into making this a really nice, usable tool, and it's rewarding to see people downloading and enjoying it.

The other exciting thing happening for me is that I am giving a talk at DEFCON! I've never given a talk to such a wide audience before; I'm almost a little nervous. If you come to see it, though, I'll try to make it worth your while!

Yeah. Stuff. Other stuff too, but f that.
